ANZAC DAY

25th April Empire Bay Cenotaph from 11AM.

Each year the Empire Bay Progress Association will hold its Anzac Day Ceremony at the Cenotaph on 25th April at 11am.   Everyone  is welcome to attend the event.  The service includes a flag and wreath laying ceremony as well as several speeches and singing.  Our Federal, State and local representatives attend, along with children from Empire Bay Public school and the Coast Christian School who join the Rural Fire Brigade in the march to the Cenotaph and wreath-laying.

We acknowledge the extraordinary bravery of Australian service men and women to preserve the freedom we now enjoy.  Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the first World War.   We also remember those who came home with mental and physical pain. After the service a BBQ is organised by the Fishing Club.   The service has been a tradition in Empire Bay  for over 20 years.

The following pictures are of ANZAC SERVICES current and past that have been held at the war memorial in Empire Bay.
